Scarlet Ottowa
Scarlet Ottowa is contemporary abstract and abstract landscape Avalon based artist. She is a resident artist at Art Gallery on Avalon Beach and her art is collected both locally and world wide. Her work is inspired by the local area in which she grew up and is expressed through her interpretation of place, memory, emotion and the environment.
Artist Statement
"Pittwater Reflections" is an expressive exploration of the dynamic and serene beauty of the Pittwater area, capturing the subtle yet profound changes that occur during sunset on the water. This work reflects my deep connection to the Pittwater environment and my desire to evoke the sensory experience of witnessing its evolving beauty. Through the use of a palette knife, I embrace an abstracted interpretation of this environment, allowing texture and movement to convey the shifting light, colours, and moods that define this unique coastal landscape. The abstraction invites viewers to engage with the essence of Pittwater rather than a literal depictionâemphasising the interplay between natural elements and the fleeting moments of transformation as daylight fades.
