Artist Statement

Golden Hour captures a fleeting moment of light and serenity along a path to the beach in Byron Bay. During an afternoon bike ride, I came upon a scene where the sun pierced through the fronds of overhanging pandanus palms, casting intricate shadows across the sand and illuminating the path with warm, golden beams. The interplay of light and shadow created a sense of quiet magic, a moment suspended in time that compelled me to pause and preserve it. Through delicate layers of watercolor, I sought to translate not just the visual beauty of the scene, but the ethereal feeling of being fully present, bathed in the sun’s glow, enveloped by the textures of the palms, and connected to the rhythm of the natural world.
